These guys are great, especially Steven. They’re very honest, trustworthy and upfront about the pricing and how to get your car back to 100%. I’ve had a new valve body replaced here as well as other regular maintenance check ups. Highly recommend.

I was out of the road and had to use my own moms car for work, school and the military for a whole month. I went to two different mechanics. I went to Radis mechanic shop in echo park who are supposed to be my friendly neighbors. However when they took a look at my Mitsubishi outlander sport they essentially told me that “it’s a can of worms, the engine is telling me it needs to be replaced and your ECM needs to be fixed, you’re looking at just selling this car… so what are your thoughts”. I was pissed. However, life taught me to be patient so I just told them “Sure, I’ll keep this in mind” and then ended the conversation. These knuckleheads even offered to buy my car for as little as 300$… what? Freaking disrespectful. I then called up my mechanic who I thought I could trust. I was on duty at Camp Pendleton when I got the call that my transmission was ruined and I was shattered. I couldn’t believe it. And I was right because the things he said just wasn’t adding up, and me being an investigator in the military with my training and experience I know something wasn’t right. Especially when this guy who I thought I could trust was charging me a total of 6800 dollars for transmission swap and labor. When that wasn’t even the real problem anyway. I took my vehicle to Steve and brother when I tell you he took care of it. He took car of it! In as little as one day too. Turns out it was the rear cat converter which caused problems with the car even moving. He wanted me to come get my vehicle on Friday. I explained to him I had work and I would have to take maybe an Uber after 6pm which is the time I would get off. This man was courteous enough to drive my car to my workplace. And the best part about it my car is running fine with no issues at all. I’m extremely grateful for Steve and his team. I couldn’t believe that my car was back and I was so happy. They definitely earned a customer for life here. I will be going to them for all my car needs and professional advice. They genuinely care about you as a customer and their actions speak volumes in comparison to words.

My car would not start so I spoke with Steve and had it towed to Westside Transmission. Unfortunately, the tow truck showed up 7 hours late, but Steve said it was not a problem. They found a frayed wire that was shorting which prevented the car from starting and made it run rough. They reached out to me promptly and replaced the wiring harness along with two oxygen sensors the same day. The car is now running great which for 1999 Suburban says a lot. This is the second time I've used Westside Transmission and I have not been disappointed.

They say that the true character of a man is seen observing what he does when nobody is watching. Likewise the real character of a service mechanic is what he does when the client has accepted the fate of a major repair. Stephen took my car which had been diagnosed with a compromised transmission needing total replacement and instead identified the problem and fixed it with a simple inexpensive repair giving up the opportunity of a major repair. This is the character of this establishment: honesty and service before profit. Thank you Stephen for fixing my car (I wasn’t ready to give up on her) and for saving me a lot of money. But most importantly thank you for restoring my faith in the goodwill of my fellow humans. When we serve one another with honesty and decency like you did, everybody wins.

I had a bad experience with another mechanic and felt they were not being honest about my options with getting a new transmission. Steven here at Westside called them on my behalf and called them on their BS. He then picked me up at my residence so I could pick up my car after they very quickly finished my transmission replacement. Above and beyond helpful, kind and fair. I don’t normally take the time to write these reviews but for this place it’s the least I could do for them.
