I work relatively close to Westside Transmission and decided to take my car there per a friend's recommendation. Being on a break from work, the owner, Jack, knew I was on a time crunch. Upon arriving, my car was taken to the back and was looked at my a team of friendly mechanics. Shortly after returning to work, I received a call from Jack telling me what the problem was with my vehicle. Stereotypically female, I didn't really know what the problem was and how urgent it was that it be resolved, and Jack took several minutes to thoroughly explain the problem, how it related to other parts in the car and how quickly the problem should be taken care of. After speaking with Jack, I decided to have the problem taken care of right away and was very pleased to receive a call the next day that my car was ready for pick-up. I highly recommend Jack and his team of mechanics to get the job done quickly, efficiently and at a fair price.

Recently the transmission on my S40 Volvo went out at 104,000 miles..sounds like a lot of miles but I take care of my cars and keep them around a while..A local shop in the Antelope valley said they had some success in rebuilding this type of transmission..I didn't find that a glowing self testimony. After asking around I called and spoke to Mr DeBasc at Westside Transmission and heard what I wanted to hear.. they had experience with my type of car and new it well and offered a 24 month warranty , proof is in the pudding and the pudding is doing fine.. got back the car within the qouted time (not long) and it is working as it should ..my frist time having to have a transmission rebuilt, not something any of us want to do..but I found these guys on top of their game. I recently took my Acura Integra back to Westside for a new clutch. Years before they had put in a clutch, it worked great beyond the miles expected. They were on budget and on time, what more can you ask for in an auto repair service

Great local transmission shop! My Volvo is running great. Their charge was competitive with the other shops around. Great warranty! I recommend them.

A few months ago I was deciding between getting my transmission replaced from the VW dealership or getting it rebuilt with Westside Transmission. Jack gave me the pro's and con's of both choices. I decided to go with getting it rebuilt with Westside Transmission mainly because it sounded like Jack knew what he was talking, it was a bit cheaper than getting a new one, and it's a AAA approved service location. After the initial service we still had a problem. After we brought it back in a few weeks later they dissassebled the transmission again and fixed the problem. It was a minor inconvenience but the 1 year warranty on their transmission service saved the day.

HONEST! I was quoted at SAAB Beverly Hills a $400 diagnosis fee and the possibility that my car would need a new transmission. (My "check engine light" and "at oil temp" light appered. As I did my research to see what my other options were I ran into Westside INC. (thank goodness) Jack took his time talking with me over the phone, advised I bring my car in and only charge a $95.00 for the diagnosis. I left my car there for 3 hours while they did there diagnosis and then called me letting me know my car was FINE and that the wiring in my car was not connected properly and showing old history of the car..which again he tried to explain to me. He also dimissed my $95.00 diagnosis fee. My Family's mechanic that we've had for 9 years will no longer be seeing us..we are now forever customer of Jacks.

Westside Transmission provided excellent and quality service in near auto crisis with honest communication and a soft sell while not bleeding us financially dry. Our new (used) Audi, recently inspected and approved by a dealer, threw us a P0741 check engine light code. I first thought it might be related to timing belt replacement we just completed, but mechanically this was not the case. After spending hours on forums to learn that '02 Audi's (and others) are plagued with a faulty torque converter, we started calling around to different mechanics and transmission shops. What first struck me as different with Westside Transmission was their website included content dealing specifically with our problem. The website was also informative without pushing their services on us. The second thing that struck me was the direct and clear communication from the owner, Jack. When queried about our specific issue, Jack did not immediately default to a straight replacement of the part as others had but suggested running an additional diagnostic to further flush out our issue. It didn't hurt that there was also a 15% on-line discount for services. Upon dropping off the car, Jack took additional time to educate my girlfriend on the purpose of a torque converter by using a cut and exploded model in the lobby while demonstrating what seals usually start leaking and result in the damage. He then took us into the garage to show us both the transmission and a torque converter of an Audi they were servicing. Long story - short - upon removing the torque converter we discovered that we needed to rebuild the transmission. Again, Westside Transmission was honest and clear with their communication with us. They provided a worst case/best case scenario with rebuilding and not rebuilding the transmission. At this point I called around to find out how much a rebuild would cost and their quote was 50% cheaper than the dealer (this included the work already done on the torque converter) and their warranty could not be matched at the other shops. Three months later and we have not had an issue with the rebuild and we still have 15 months of warranty coverage. If you are having transmission issues, then I would highly suggest giving Westside Transmission a call.

Jack is the BEST mechanic I've ever had. I came in several years ago because I had been told that I needed a new transmission. I didn't. Meanwhile, Jack correctly diagnosed my vibrating engine as having cracked motor mounts. Since then he has done some major work on my car, and it's all been excellent. He explains everything in easy-to-understand detail; he's honest and conscientious; and the prices are more than fair.

I recently traveled across country in my 2005 Jeep Liberty and landed in Los Angeles. Its been two weeks and the water pump went bad. A problem consistent with my model of vehicle. I told Jaco the symptoms associated with my Jeep and he diagnosed my vehicle exactly with what I had suspected. My vehicle was fixed the following morning and available for pick up essentially the same day considering I dropped it off at the end of the previous day. The price was reasonable and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend Jaco and Westside Transmissions for leery auto mechanic customers.

I brought in a vehicle that most other shops wouldn't touch (1981 International Harvester 4x4 short bus!) Jack scratched his head at first, but decided that they would give it a try. Not only did he try, but he did an amazing job at a reasonable price. There are those times when you are talking to someone and you get that impression that they really know what they're doing. He's one of those guys. I would definitely recommend this shop for service on your vehicle
